Walibi Belgium amusement park has introduced warning signs to protect the so-called "Scare Actors" during the Halloween season. The witty yet clear message aims to curb any form of harassment of the performers by visitors.
A Witty Message with a Serious Undertone
Halloween is peak season for amusement parks, drawing numerous visitors in search of a spine-chilling experience. Yet, while guests revel in fun, the Halloween performers, or
"Scare Actors", often face challenges. Instances of harassment or even aggression are sadly not uncommon.
In response to these incidents, Walibi Belgium took a preventive step. Multilingual warning signs are now prominently displayed throughout the park. The main message humorously reads: "Contagious Monsters! Avoid all contact." However, a closer look at the smaller text below reveals the sign's grave intent: "It is strictly forbidden to touch the performers. Violating the guidelines could result in being ejected from the park and even police intervention."
The Halloween Season at Walibi Belgium
Until November 5th, a host of Halloween activities are scheduled at Walibi Belgium. Apart from the many "Scare Actors" roaming the park, special haunted houses are a prime attraction. However, these intense experiences are only available on designated
"Nocturnes" days, when the park remains open until 10:00 PM.
Prioritizing Respect and Safety
With the new signs, Walibi Belgium emphasizes the importance of respect and safety. The aim is for both visitors and employees to have a pleasant time at the park. This move demonstrates that amusement parks are becoming increasingly aware of the challenges their staff, especially the "Scare Actors", face during peak seasons.
For guests, this presents an opportunity to fully enjoy the Halloween season, provided they adhere to the rules. Walibi Belgium's initiative sets a precedent for the entire amusement park industry, highlighting the significance of mutual respect.
In hopes that both visitors and performers will have a memorable and safe Halloween experience, Walibi Belgium leads by example. This step underlines that the safety and well-being of staff are as crucial as ensuring visitors' enjoyment.
