Walibi Belgium Celebrates 25 Years of Halloween: New Haunted Houses and Shows in “Ibilaw”

This year, Walibi Belgium is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its legendary Halloween event by transforming into the eerie parallel world of “Ibilaw.” From October 12 to November 3, 2024, visitors can look forward to a spine-chilling spectacle featuring new haunted houses, scare zones, a show, and a horrifying culinary experience. The highlight of the event is the return of Bill, a mysterious figure trapped in the park since 1976.

Ibilaw: A Parallel World of Horror

This year’s Halloween event at Walibi Belgium introduces a new dimension of terror to the park. “Ibilaw” is a dark parallel universe inhabited by monstrous creatures and paranormal phenomena. In this nightmare world lurks Bill, a boy who disappeared in the park in 1976 and now returns as a vengeful spirit to haunt visitors. During the 25th-anniversary celebrations, Bill emerges to spread fear and terror among those brave enough to enter his eerie realm.

New Haunted Houses and Scare Zones

Walibi Belgium expands its Halloween offerings this year with two new haunted houses: “Silence” and “Fear Factory.” In “Silence,” visitors find themselves in an abandoned school where even the faintest sound can have deadly consequences. “Fear Factory” brings guests face-to-face with Bill’s dark experiments as he seeks revenge. Alongside these new attractions, visitors can rediscover iconic haunted houses such as “Mine Blast” and “The Curse of Amun.” However, these haunted experiences are not recommended for those with a faint heart or anyone under 16.

Additionally, there are five terrifying scare zones, including the new “Hillsboro” zone, which opens on October 19. Here, visitors will uncover Bill’s darkest secrets. Other scare zones include “Mandu,” “Doomed Ruins,” “Gaz Leak,” and the returning “Psycho Circus XXXL,” now bigger and more terrifying than ever.

The Chilling Show and Macabre Delights

Walibi Belgium adds a chilling new show, “Behind,” to this year’s Halloween experience. This show delivers spine-tingling performances that complement perfectly the overall horror theme. For those seeking a horrifying yet delicious break, the “Freaky Pizza Festival” offers a culinary experience where horror and flavor blend seamlessly in a macabre setting.

Halloween for the Whole Family

Despite its dark themes, Walibi remains a family-friendly park. During Halloween, all visitors are welcome to enjoy the park’s attractions and unique atmosphere. For children under 12, an “Anti-Monster Badge” is available at the information desk, signaling to actors not to scare them.

Practical information and tickets

The park will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM on the weekends of October 12/13 and October 20-25. On extended opening days, October 19 and October 26 through November 3, the park will remain open until 10 PM. Visitors can take advantage of presale rates until September 26, with tickets costing €42 for regular days and €45 for extended days. After September 26, prices will increase to €49.50 for regular days and €53 for extended days.

To manage visitor numbers and ensure an optimal experience, Walibi is limiting daily admissions. Visitors who wish to attend the extended opening days must make a reservation via the booking platform if they hold an undated ticket or a valid pass for the Halloween period (except for Platinum Pass holders).

Transportation Recommendations and Discounts

To alleviate traffic around the park during this busy time, Walibi strongly recommends using alternative transport options such as trains or carpooling. The SNCB will increase its services to accommodate the Halloween season. Visitors can also benefit from a 50% discount on train tickets using a code provided on their entry tickets.
