The rush of water, gleaming slides, and the excited laughter of families – a familiar setting for those acquainted with Aqualibi Water Park. Yet, after a significant investment of 30 million Euros, the park is gearing up for a renaissance that goes beyond the usual splash and fun.
The Tower Dominating the Waves
At the heart of the expansion is a 25-meter-tall truncated pyramid tower. Inside, it houses four state-of-the-art water slides that promise to be a sensation both in the Benelux countries and throughout Europe:
- Dueling RocketBlast: A high-speed duel on two-seater buoys, powered by advanced water jet propulsion.
- Rally Racer: A thrilling carpet slide where enthusiasts race head-to-head in an exhilarating duel.
- Canon Bowl: A riveting slide that pulls guests into a massive funnel, culminating in a dramatic final descent.
- Tornado Wave: This slide marries high speeds with an impressive wave, delivering a truly breathtaking experience.
Entry into this new aqua realm is via a covered corridor, seamlessly winding along the wild river "Rapido". The tower's interior design immerses the visitor in the depths of a surf wave, a masterful interplay of light and shadow evoking the atmosphere of an ocean swell.
More Than Just Slides: Expansion for the Guests
But Aqualibi didn't just think of the thrill-seekers. An outdoor relaxation and dining area is slated for launch in spring 2024. The existing reception area is also getting a facelift, ensuring guests have an even more pleasant start to their water-filled adventure.
Julien Demonté, Director of Aqualibi, explains: "Since our inception in 1987, no project has been as ambitious as this. With these additions, we're setting standards far beyond Belgium's borders."
The Green Footprint of a Water Park
But it's not just aquatic fun that's being revamped. The park is committed to a sustainable mission: achieving a net-zero carbon footprint by 2030. This commitment is evident in various energy efficiency projects, including the installation of 5,442 photovoltaic modules by ENGIE. A significant stride, not just for the park, but for environmental conservation as well.
ENGIE's CEO for Belgium, Thierry Saegeman, sums it up: "Our collaboration with Aqualibi represents more than just business – it's a commitment to a more sustainable future."
Combining adrenaline rushes with sustainability initiatives, Aqualibi positions itself at the forefront of modern amusement parks, offering a premier experience.
