Recently, construction fences were put up around Pizza Predattoria in the Jurassic Park section of Universal Islands of Adventure. The installation suggests that sidewalk renovations are underway. Despite the construction work, the restaurant remains open to visitors, and the popular attractions in the Jurassic Park area continue to be fully accessible to guests.
Construction work around Pizza Predattoria
The construction fences have been installed around the popular Pizza Predattoria restaurant in the Jurassic Park area. The fences start under the well-known restaurant sign and extend along the right side of the building. Interestingly, the fences do not enclose any part of the restaurant itself but block off a section of the sidewalk. This indicates that the construction work is likely focused on sidewalk renovations.
A sandwich board sign has been placed at the corner, directing guests to both the standard and accessible entrances. Additionally, a kiosk offering napkins and utensils has been relocated next to the fences to maintain the usual services. The queue area for the restaurant remains open to visitors, allowing the restaurant to operate with minimal disruption during the renovations.
Attractions and Additional Construction in Jurassic Park
In addition to the sidewalk work outside Pizza Predattoria, other parts of the Jurassic Park area are undergoing renovations. The iconic water attraction, Jurassic Park River Adventure, which takes visitors on a thrilling ride through scenes from the first film, will close in January 2025 for extensive refurbishments. A specific reopening date has not yet been announced.
Additionally, the Pteranodon Flyers attraction, which has been closed since April 2024, remains without a scheduled reopening date. Despite these temporary closures, visitors to the Jurassic Park area can still enjoy attractions like the high-speed VelociCoaster, the interactive Jurassic Park Discovery Center, and the Camp Jurassic play area.

For fans looking to dive even deeper into the world of Jurassic Park, Universal’s Great Movie Escape in Universal CityWalk offers an immersive experience that brings the film’s universe to life. This interactive experience allows visitors to step into exciting scenes and adventures from the Jurassic Park franchise.
The Creation of the Jurassic Park Universe
The success of the Jurassic Park area at Universal Islands of Adventure is closely tied to the enduring popularity of the film series. The first Jurassic Park film, released in 1993 under the direction of Steven Spielberg, was based on the 1990 novel by Michael Crichton. The film set new standards in special effects and filmmaking and led to two successful sequels.
In 2015, the new Jurassic World trilogy was introduced, continuing the park’s story into the modern era. Work on another trilogy, titled Jurassic World Rebirth, is already underway, with Scarlett Johansson set to star in the lead role, ushering the franchise into a new era.
