Visitors at Toverland were in for a surprise this week as the widely known Scorpios swing ship was removed from the Greek-themed area, Ithaka, for extensive maintenance. The impressive dismantling, conducted using a large crane, caught many an eye. A spokesperson for the amusement park aptly described the event as “a sight to behold”.

Interestingly, even the iconic figurehead – a scorpion tail – was carefully detached to facilitate the transport and further works. But this is merely the beginning of a thorough overhaul process. In the upcoming weeks, Scorpios will be completely disassembled and refurbished by a team of specialists at the Toverland Workshop. The message is clear: the attraction is set to be in prime condition for years to come, promising fans unforgettable moments.

Yet, that's not the sole major project. Even the pillars of the imposing structure are undergoing a makeover. For those who are concerned, fret not! Plans are in place for Scorpios to be back in action, thrilling visitors by early October. This marks the most extensive maintenance since the ride's introduction in 2010, crafted by the renowned German manufacturer Metallbau Emmeln.
