In the heart of Limburg's Toverland amusement park stands Dragonwatch, an attraction that has captivated visitors since its introduction last summer. This parachute tower, designed by the renowned company Intamin, is located in the medieval-themed area, Avalon. But what makes this attraction so special, and how has Toverland responded to the recent technical challenges it faced?

Technical Challenges and the Halloween Hiatus

In late October, amidst the Halloween season, Toverland faced an unexpected setback: Dragonwatch had to be shut down due to a technical malfunction. This incident, which occurred on October 25th, even required the fire department's intervention to safely evacuate guests from one of the gondolas. Consequently, the attraction remained closed for the rest of the Halloween season and also during the “Winter Feelings” event at the end of November. This unplanned break led to a noticeable disappointment among park visitors.

Comprehensive Solution and Reopening

The wait is over: Dragonwatch is back in operation. The technical difficulties that led to the prolonged closure have been resolved. But Toverland went a step further and seized the opportunity to enhance the riding experience of Dragonwatch. The duration of the ride remains the same, but the parachutes now ascend and descend six times – an increase compared to the original four rounds. This adjustment, along with an increase in speed at certain points, promises an even more intense riding experience.

Weather-Related Challenges

Despite the successful resolution of the technical problem, Dragonwatch remains subject to the whims of nature. Yesterday, the attraction had to be closed for almost the entire day due to strong winds. Even today, the parachutes are not in operation due to bad weather. However, a spokesperson for the park assured that the earlier technical issue has been completely resolved.

Visitor Information and Christmas Operations

Toverland offers its guests a rich experience, even during the holiday season. The park remains open today until 6:00 PM, although some attractions, like the ice rink, are not accessible due to heavy rain. For the rest of the Christmas holiday, the park is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, except on December 31st and January 1st, when the park closes two hours earlier.

The resumption of operations for Dragonwatch is a testament to Toverland's commitment to safety, quality, and guest satisfaction. While the weather remains an unpredictable variable, the attraction stands ready to thrill visitors with its new ride dynamics and enhanced experience. Toverland once again proves its ability to overcome challenges and continuously improve its attractions, offering its guests unforgettable experiences.
