Hyperia: Records and Technical Details
Hyperia reaches a top speed of approximately 130 kilometers per hour and features three inversions. This roller coaster, manufactured by the German company Mack Rides, sets several records for its height and speed. Riders experience a total of 14.8 seconds of weightlessness, a new British record. Additionally, Hyperia boasts a 51.2-meter-tall loop, breaking a European record.
Thematic Backstory
The roller coaster’s design is based on a mythological story. Hyperia, the daughter of an ancient river god, overcomes her fears, symbolizing the potential within each person. According to Thorpe Park, the ride is intended to make guests feel weightless, fearless, and invincible.
Special Ride Elements
Another highlight of Hyperia is the world's first “outer-banked airtime hill.” This element provides a unique riding experience, distinguishing the attraction from other roller coasters. The innovative design and special ride elements of Hyperia offer a unique experience that roller coaster enthusiasts should not miss.
