In the heart of Thorpe Park, Hyperia is taking shape - a roller coaster set to open in 2024 as the fastest and tallest of its kind in the UK. The process began in December 2021 when Thorpe Park presented the first designs for an ambitious project then known as “Project Exodus.” A dedicated microsite provided insights into the project, complemented by artist illustrations and detailed information. The park management actively promoted public involvement through the conduct of civic participation forums, both online and on-site, to foster broad discussion and participation in this forward-looking project.

The Big Reveal: Hyperia's Name Unveiled

On October 5, 2023, the anticipation reached its peak when Thorpe Park revealed the true identity of Project Exodus as Hyperia during a glamorous VIP event concluding the Fright Nights. This unveiling, presented to an audience of celebrities, influencers, journalists, and representatives from leading media outlets, was simultaneously broadcasted through the park's website and various social media platforms to achieve maximum reach and engagement.

Construction Progress: The Transformation of Hyperia

To date, Hyperia has evolved from a vision into an impressive reality. The construction of the station buildings has progressed, as has the erection of the maintenance station, crucial for the care and maintenance of the roller coaster trains.

A particular highlight is the commencement of work on the base of the 72-meter-high lift hill, which will mark the starting point for the passengers' breathtaking ascent. At the same time, supports and rails for the second-highest section of the ride, reaching a height of 50 meters, are being installed. This section of the roller coaster is already completed and offers a spectacular view over Thorpe Park.

In parallel, landscaping in this area is underway. Work on the final airtime hill and the brake section of the ride has begun, while the splashdown element, which will pass over a lake, continues to take shape.

The Station: The Heart of Hyperia

In Hyperia's station, the tracks are already laid, where the trains will be positioned, and passengers will embark and disembark. The maintenance station is now also equipped with walls and a roof.

Outlook: The Future of Hyperia

With each passing day, the opening of Hyperia draws nearer. The construction progress indicates that Thorpe Park is creating not just an exciting roller coaster ride but a true masterpiece of engineering and design. Visitors can look forward to an unparalleled experience that promises adrenaline, fun, and unforgettable moments.

Stay tuned and follow the exciting developments of Hyperia, set to elevate the thrill to a new level in 2024.
