Rulantica water park will unveil its largest outdoor pool, “Svømmepøl,” in spring 2025, promising an unforgettable aquatic experience. Spanning 660 square meters with a Nordic volcanic theme, this attraction combines relaxation and adventure. We explore the construction progress, technical features, and immersive design of this major project.
A New Star Attraction for Rulantica
Starting in spring 2025, “Svømmepøl” will welcome visitors to Rulantica with a spectacular outdoor pool experience. Boasting a 660-square-meter water surface and holding 850,000 liters, the pool surpasses “Frigg Tempel” by 30 percent, making it the largest outdoor swimming area in the water park. A 20-meter-long glass tunnel connects the “Tønnevirvel” water carousel to the pool, guiding guests straight into the refreshing water. Heated year-round, “Svømmepøl” ensures enjoyable swimming and relaxation regardless of the weather.
Immersive Nordic Volcanic Landscape
The “Svømmepøl” transports guests into a captivating Nordic volcanic setting. Bubbling geysers, intricate rock formations, gentle mist, and a cozy grotto create an enchanting atmosphere. Visitors can unwind on gently bubbling water loungers or retreat to a shaded rock cave. Surrounding the pool, lounging areas framed by Nordic vegetation invite sunbathing, whether on comfortable loungers with views of the shimmering water or under the shade of trees and rocks. Swimmers can enjoy the pool’s 25-meter length for active laps. The “Svømme-Bar,” Rulantica’s largest swim-up bar with up to 100 seats, offers cocktails and refreshments to complete the experience.
From Concept to Completion
Planning for “Svømmepøl” kicked off in October 2024, when the vision for Rulantica’s largest outdoor pool took shape. Following a concise yet intensive planning phase, construction began in early November 2024. Adjacent to the “Svalgurok” lounging area, workers excavated up to eight meters deep to accommodate the massive pool. The structural phase proceeded in two shifts to meet the timeline. Multiple teams contribute to the project: “MACK Solutions” handles construction, Europa-Park’s gardening team designs the surroundings, Mack Magic adds creative touches, and Rulantica staff manage operational planning. Currently, final touches, including a specialized coating, are underway before the pool is filled with water.
Advanced Technology Behind the Project
Beneath “Svømmepøl” lies a technical room that manages water treatment for both the pool and the “Tønnevirvel” carousel. Chlorinated water undergoes multiple purification stages to eliminate dirt and bacteria, ensuring pristine conditions. This infrastructure highlights the project’s complexity, supporting both attractions seamlessly. Visible progress includes the first rock formations and the green roof of the swim-up bar. As completion nears, guests will soon swim laps, relax on bubbling loungers, or sip drinks at the bar.
