Antoine Baldinger has been a key member of the Rulantica team since its early days. He advanced from operator to team leader and has been responsible for quality management since May 2023. This article looks at the initial days of new employees and the comprehensive training program overseen by Antoine and his team.
Introduction of New Team Members
Antoine Baldinger, the responsible trainer for operators and lifeguards at Rulantica, plays a central role in integrating new employees. In collaboration with the HR department, the Welcome Center, and the MACK Academy, he develops a comprehensive training program. After the application process, new colleagues are welcomed at the Welcome Center, which opened in March 2024. There, they receive a welcome package, their employee ID, and an introductory tour of Rust and their new workplace.
Training at the MACK Academy
On the second day, the MACK Academy conducts a fundamental safety training session, which also introduces the corporate culture of the Europa-Park Resort. In the afternoon, Antoine takes over with specific training for Rulantica. In about two hours, he imparts crucial safety rules and evacuation procedures and provides an introduction to Rulantica's structures and processes.
Practical Training in the Water Park
The following three days are dedicated to practical training. Antoine starts each day with theoretical sessions before the water park opens its doors. Supported by an experienced team member, known as a “buddy,” the new colleagues learn how to handle emergencies, use radios, and manage guest complaints. Once the park opens to guests, the new employees gain practical experience in pairs.
Ongoing training and quality control
Learning doesn't stop after the first week. Antoine offers continuous training sessions tailored to the needs of the teams. These range from brief 15-minute “turbo training” sessions to more detailed sessions that delve into specialized topics.
