Six Organizations Benefit from PortAventura Solidarity Events

The Fundación PortAventura has announced that six organizations in the Tarragona region are receiving support through its solidarity events. The initiative aims to promote the well-being of vulnerable children and adolescents. Selected projects focus on education, psychological care, and accessible spaces, funded by events like the “Fun Run.”

Supported Projects in Focus

The “Fun Run” supports Fundación Soñar Despierto, which provides academic assistance and leisure activities for minors in social distress, particularly those living in care facilities, residential homes, and open centers in the Tarragona province. The project seeks to prevent school dropouts and enhance social integration. Fundación Diagrama also benefits, offering psychological care to children and adolescents linked to the foundation in Tarragona. This includes comprehensive psychotherapeutic intervention and the acquisition of sensory stimulation equipment, notably a portable Snoezelen set. The Solidaritätsdinner aids Fundació La Muntanyeta, which delivers essential services for children with cerebral palsy. Specifically, the multisensory classroom and music therapy workshop spaces will be equipped with necessary furniture and materials. Fundació d'Oncologia Infantil Enriqueta Villavecchia creates areas for rest, recreation, leisure, and family support for children with cancer, alongside a dedicated space for end-of-life care. The Golfturnier assists Associació Jeroni de Moragas in establishing a fully accessible space designed for individuals with mobility challenges. This area will feature distinct sections offering a comprehensive multisensory experience, stimulating all five senses and encouraging contact with nature. Asociación Contra el Càncer en Tarragona is setting up a new oncological physiotherapy unit, delivering this service with an innovative approach, regardless of cancer type or patient age.

Commitment to Vulnerable Children and Adolescents

For the second consecutive year, Fundación PortAventura is backing initiatives targeting the needs of the most at-risk children and youth. The foundation aims to contribute to projects that support this vulnerable group. Ramon Marsal, President of Fundación PortAventura, emphasized the importance of these efforts: “We firmly believe every child and adolescent deserves opportunities for a better future. Through our flagship project, PortAventura Dreams Village, we see daily how small actions can transform lives. We take great pride in these contributions, as they demonstrate our commitment to regional organizations tirelessly working to offer hope to children and youth at risk of social exclusion.” The selection process prioritized initiatives with a positive impact on vulnerable children and adolescents, particularly those implemented in Tarragona districts.

Three Major Charity Events as the Foundation

The funding stems from three annual Fundación PortAventura events. The “Fun Run” race, scheduled for May 25, attracts over 1,500 participants. The traditional Solidaritätsdinner, marking its fourteenth edition on July 24, continues to draw support. The Golfturnier, reaching its tenth edition this fall, rounds out the trio. Proceeds from these solidarity events, bolstered by participants and sponsors, determine the aid distributed to the chosen organizations.
