Successful Charity Event with Over 1,200 Attendees
This year's Solidarity Dinner by the PortAventura Foundation attracted a wide range of supporters, including individuals, companies, and public and nonprofit organizations. Held at the PortAventura Convention Centre, the event has become a cornerstone of the region's social engagement. In its 13th edition, the dinner raised a record €125,391, which will be distributed among three projects dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and young people.
Supported Projects and Their Goals
The funds raised during the dinner will be allocated to three key projects, each with distinct yet significant objectives. The Centre de Formació Permanent, part of the Fundació URV, focuses on the INSERLAB project, which aims to integrate young people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disorders, and autism into the workforce. Through tailored training, these young people are provided the opportunity to overcome employment barriers, thereby achieving more equitable participation in society. Another project by the Fundació URV, AMB-ÈXIT-ED, targets school dropouts by offering educational opportunities and resources that enable them to complete their education and enhance their career prospects.
Another supported project is Casa Sant Josep, managed by Xarxa Santa Tecla. This initiative aims to create a home-like environment within CRAE Sant Josep, specifically designed for at-risk children and unaccompanied minors. The focus is on promoting family reunification and strengthening parental skills to ensure long-term, stable family relationships for the children and young people. This work is particularly important as thousands of children in Catalonia are under the care of social services, with many in foster care.
The third project benefiting from the dinner’s proceeds is the PortAventura Foundation’s Dreams Village. This flagship project offers families with seriously ill children the opportunity to enjoy a week-long stay in specially built villas. With the recent addition of four new villas, Dreams Village can now support over 400 families annually, significantly expanding its reach and having a positive impact on the emotional recovery of these children.
The Importance of the Event and the Organizers' Gratitude
Ramón Marsal, President of the PortAventura Foundation, highlighted the importance of the Solidarity Dinner: “This event is an important opportunity to reflect on the social impact our community can have by supporting projects that create a fairer and more equitable future for all.” He also expressed his gratitude to all those involved, including the guests, partners, sponsors, and volunteers, whose dedication and unwavering support made the event a success.
Support from sponsors and partners
The event was supported by numerous sponsors, including Fundació “La Caixa” and Transgourmet as the main sponsors. Other companies, such as Damm, Coca-Cola, and REPSOL, also contributed to the successful realization of the dinner.
