The 2024 fall season brought record success for Belgium's Plopsa Group theme parks. Plopsaland De Panne and Plopsa Coo Ardennes saw a remarkable surge in visitor numbers compared to previous years. New attractions, family-friendly shows, and Halloween events attracted countless families, solidifying the Plopsaland Resort as a sought-after destination for short family vacations.

Plopsaland De Panne: Record Attendance and Full Hotel Bookings

Plopsaland De Panne experienced a significant 66% increase in visitor numbers compared to last year, marking a record-breaking fall season. The Plopsaland Theater Hotel was fully booked during the entire Flemish fall break, highlighting the resort’s appeal as a popular multi-day family getaway.

A major attraction this season was the debut of the Nachtwacht experience house, “Het Huis van Pandora,” which provided a thrilling Halloween experience tailored to families. Another highlight was the new Piet Piraat Halloween Show, which drew nearly 25,000 attendees and was met with great enthusiasm. The show complemented the Halloween lineup, with popular Studio 100 characters like Bumba and Maya de Bij making appearances in costume, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Halloween Experiences Drive Success

The Studio 100 Festival Halloween turned out to be a successful endeavor, reaffirming Plopsa's strategy of focusing on experiential offerings and shows. This investment was well-received by visitors, who expressed high levels of satisfaction. “The success of Studio 100 Festival Halloween shows that our strategy of focusing more on experiences and shows is paying off. The fact that our hotel was fully booked also shows that Plopsaland Resort has become a popular destination for multi-day stays,” said Xavier Verellen, Marketing & Sales Director of Plopsa. He also announced that this strategy would carry over into the winter season, with the soft opening of Plopsaland Village and other new attractions on the way.

Plopsa Coo Ardennes: Nearly Triple Visitor Numbers

Plopsa Coo Ardennes in the Ardennes region also enjoyed impressive results, with visitor numbers nearly tripling compared to last year. The variety of Halloween-themed activities and favorable autumn weather contributed significantly to this success. Magical encounters with Studio 100 characters and the iconic “Pompoenkoning” were among the highlights for visitors. The family-friendly Magico Show, a popular magic performance, added to the excitement, offering a well-rounded experience for guests.

Steady Attendance at Plopsa Indoor Hasselt and Plopsa Station Antwerp

Unlike the outdoor parks, Plopsa Indoor Hasselt and Plopsa Station Antwerp recorded steady attendance figures compared to previous years. Despite the pleasant weather drawing many to outdoor activities, the indoor venues remained popular for families seeking weatherproof entertainment.

Positive Outlook and Plans for the Winter Season

The positive outcomes from the fall season laid a strong foundation for the upcoming winter holidays. Carl Lenaerts, CEO of the Plopsa Group, expressed satisfaction with the high demand and visitor approval: “We are particularly proud of the growing visitor numbers during the fall break. This growth confirms that our focus on family-friendly experiences and high-quality shows is appreciated by our guests. In the future, we will continue investing in these unique experiences for the entire family.”

Building on the success of the fall season, the Plopsa Group looks forward to bringing the concept into the winter, with a wide range of seasonal activities planned. The soft opening of Plopsaland Village and various magical winter attractions are set to draw visitors, creating a delightful experience even in the colder months.
