Fans of the popular TV series Nachtwacht have reason to celebrate: Plopsaland De Panne has announced the opening of a dedicated themed area inspired by the mystical world of the series. Kasteelplein will be completely transformed into “Nachtwacht: Schemermeer.” The opening is scheduled for the Easter holidays of 2025 and promises a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
A New Themed Area with a Mystical Atmosphere
Plopsaland De Panne is expanding its attractions with an immersive world based on the popular series Nachtwacht. The TV series follows the adventures of an elf, a werewolf, and a vampire who join forces to fight evil. The new Schemermeer area will capture the mysterious atmosphere of the series, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the magical world of Nachtwacht. In addition to the thematic redesign, the surrounding Kasteelplein will also be adapted to enhance the overall experience.
Draconis – The New Face of a Popular Roller Coaster
The existing family roller coaster De Draak will undergo a complete transformation and be renamed Draconis. The ride, which has been a staple of the park since its opening in 2004, will be reimagined to fit the theme of Schemermeer, the village from the TV series. With a top speed of 36 km/h and a capacity of 38 passengers per ride, it will remain an attraction for the entire family while offering a more immersive and intense experience. The coaster's transformation will not only include visual changes but also new effects and thematic details to further enhance the series' atmosphere.
Plopsaland Bets on a Proven Fan Favorite
The decision to create a dedicated themed area for Nachtwacht is based on the ongoing popularity of the series among park visitors. Carl Lenaerts, CEO of the Plopsa Group, highlights this success: “Nachtwacht has been a staple in our park for years. The Halloween event ‘Nachtwacht & Het Huis van Pandora’ and the special appearances during the autumn holidays have once again confirmed how popular the series is with our guests.” Plopsaland De Panne has already successfully incorporated the franchise into special events and character meet-and-greets, attracting large visitor numbers.
A Highlight for the Easter Holidays in 2025
With the opening of “Nachtwacht: Schemermeer,” Plopsaland De Panne continues to offer imaginative attractions for families and theme park enthusiasts. The combination of the newly themed area and the revamped Draconis coaster promises visitors an unforgettable experience. The magical world of Nachtwacht will soon come to life in an entirely new dimension. Visitors can already look forward to an extraordinary adventure in the Easter holidays of 2025. The new additions aim to captivate not only children but also older fans of the series, creating an immersive experience that seamlessly integrates into the park’s existing offerings.
