Attention roller coaster enthusiasts! Those planning a visit to Phantasialand in the coming weeks might be in for a surprise: The breathtaking Black Mamba is temporarily out of action. Since August 24th, this Inverted Coaster hasn't been racing through its loops, due to unexpected maintenance work.

According to the official website of the park, the "Serpent Queen" is currently taking a break. "Urgent maintenance work requires us to temporarily suspend the Black Mamba. We ask all fans for patience and understanding," the park mentions on its attraction page.

What's noteworthy is the observation made by some alert park visitors: A section of the roller coaster, especially the underside of one of its exhilarating loops, has been covered with white sails. Right next to it, a bridge has been cordoned off. The exact reasons behind these precautions remain a mystery as Phantasialand remains tight-lipped.

Black Mamba, launched in 2006 in the exotic theme zone "Deep in Africa", has since thrilled with daring maneuvers and speeds of up to 50 mph. But despite its brief hiatus: The nearby "Deep in Africa" zone still beckons with adventures and encounters that visitors won't want to miss.
