Parc Astérix is taking a major step toward sustainability: Starting in early 2026, the installation of photovoltaic canopies will begin on parking lots P2, P3, P6, and the staff lot PP. With a capacity of 7.6 MWp, these structures will generate 7.1 GWh of solar energy annually, fully utilized on-site.
Sustainability Powered by Solar Energy
A comprehensive infrastructure is being built across four parking areas to supply Parc Astérix with green energy. The photovoltaic canopies, delivering 7.6 MWp, will produce 7.1 GWh each year. This energy will be consumed entirely within the park to meet its needs sustainably. Covering lots P2, P3, P6, and the PP staff parking area, this initiative ranks among the largest solar projects in a theme park, blending environmental responsibility with modern entertainment.
Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles
The first phase, kicking off in early 2026, will introduce 120 charging stations for electric vehicles. In total, 370 parking spaces are set to be electrified over time. This modern charging infrastructure will support both visitors and staff in transitioning to electric mobility. The electrification of these parking areas forms a key part of the project and will roll out progressively.
Energy Storage for Reliability
To ensure a stable power supply, Parc Astérix is planning an energy storage solution. This system will guarantee sufficient electricity during peak demand periods, such as busy visitor days. By combining photovoltaic canopies with storage technology, the park secures its operations efficiently and elevates its commitment to sustainability to a new level.
