Parc Astérix has ambitious plans for the coming years: by 2028, it aims to enhance its portfolio with ten new attractions, including an interactive ride and an indoor roller coaster. These investments follow the successful introduction of the Toutatis launch coaster and other attractions.
Current and Planned Attractions
In recent years, Parc Astérix has consistently invested in expanding its offerings, as evidenced by attractions such as the Toutatis launch coaster and a 50-meter-high chain carousel. Between 2025 and 2028, the park is set to grow further: nine new attractions are planned, as indicated by recent permit applications.
New Roller Coasters and Family Attractions
A spinning coaster is scheduled for construction in 2025 on the former site of the Nationale 7 vintage car track. Additionally, an Egyptian-themed hotel is expected to open in 2026, and the park will expand to include three family attractions in the Greek-themed zone, featuring a WindstarZ carousel from Zamperla and two drop towers from Zierer.
Innovation and Interaction
One of the highlights of the new projects is an interactive indoor attraction designed by Belgian manufacturer Alterface. This attraction merges the concept of a teacup carousel with interactive elements and can accommodate up to 450 guests per hour.
Covered attractions and special effects
A large indoor roller coaster is planned for 2028. This will be housed in a roughly 5,000-square-meter building and is designed to thrill riders with special effects and brief outdoor segments. The manufacturer and specific design of the track are yet to be determined, but features will include launch accelerations and unique elements such as dead ends and a free fall.
Further Developments
A new theme restaurant with 400 seats, a water playground, and a Halloween attraction are also part of the extensive expansion. By 2028, the existing theme hotel is expected to be expanded by over a hundred rooms.
Cultural and Thematic Adjustments
Parc Astérix creatively integrates its new attractions into the thematic environment, creating, for example, a London area styled after the Asterix comics. The first part of the new expansion will be completed in 2027, including the interactive indoor attraction and a restaurant accommodating 600 seats.
