Movie Park Germany concludes its season with an impressive record. The second year of the winter event “Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas” brought a 20 percent increase in visitors compared to the previous year. Additionally, the park recorded its highest overall visitor numbers since 2002, driven by a diverse annual program featuring special events and attractions.
A Successful Second Year for “Hollywood Christmas”
The winter event “Movie Park’s Hollywood Christmas” has firmly established itself as a highlight on the park’s calendar. With a 20 percent rise in visitors compared to its premiere the year before, the event proved highly popular. Park CEO Thorsten Backhaus expressed his satisfaction and highlighted the importance of the winter program: “As a film and amusement park with American roots, this allows us to further emphasize our identity while offering more opening days for our guests.”
The event’s American-inspired design attracted families and movie enthusiasts alike. Over 800,000 lights illuminated the park, creating a colorful winter wonderland. The decoration across four themed areas further enhanced the festive atmosphere, while the 23 event days provided a wide range of attractions celebrating the spirit of Christmas.
Unique Experiences and Festive Entertainment
The winter event captivated guests with a variety of highlights, delivering unforgettable moments. A grand “Christmas Tree Celebration” became a daily focal point, while Christian Farla delighted audiences with his show, “A Magical Christmas Tale,” blending magic with festive cheer.
The popular park parade received a winter makeover, featuring new seasonal elements. Guests enjoyed personal interactions with Santa Claus and his friends, while a 360-square-meter ice-skating rink provided a lively winter activity. Each event day concluded with an impressive finale show combining fire, laser, and lighting effects for a breathtaking spectacle.
Annual Success and Records
The year 2024 was a resounding success for Movie Park Germany in many respects. Alongside the growth of “Hollywood Christmas,” the park also set a new visitor record during the autumn season. The Halloween Horror Festival, an annual favorite, once again drew large crowds and significantly contributed to the season's success.
The total visitor numbers for 2024, including additional opening days in January 2025, marked the highest figures since 2002. Movie Park Germany further solidified its position as one of Germany’s top leisure destinations, thanks to its variety of themed events and the continuous enhancement of its offerings.
Looking Ahead to the New Season
Following a successful winter season and the best annual performance in over two decades, Movie Park Germany enters its well-deserved off-season. The park will reopen its gates on April 4, 2025, kicking off a new season. Visitors can look forward to another year full of highlights, continuing the momentum of the previous season’s achievements.
