When visiting Movie Park Germany these days, at first glance, one might think it's the calm before the storm. But a closer look reveals a different reality: Several major attractions are closed due to technical reasons.
At the start of the season, park fans were already confronted with closed rides. Some of these issues seemed temporarily resolved, but appearances were deceptive. Currently, three of the crowd-pullers - The High Fall, NYC Transformer, and the whirling Splat-O-Sphere - are out of order.
And as if that wasn't enough, there's a surprising twist with the simulator The Lost Temple. Instead of offering thrilling adventures, it's being transformed into a haunted house for the upcoming Halloween season – and that, even though the spooky month of October is still a few weeks away. What might the park be planning?
But what's behind these unexpected closures? "Currently, it's a real challenge to procure spare parts for some of our rides," said a park spokesperson. "It's unclear when exactly these attractions will be back in operation, but we're doing our best to find solutions."
Visitors' patience is indeed being tested, as there's no financial compensation. A word of advice: Those planning a visit soon should check the status of attractions beforehand.
For Movie Park Germany, the current challenges are undoubtedly a significant strain. Besides technical issues, they also have to face the judgment of their loyal fan base. It'll be intriguing to see how the park overcomes this hurdle.
