On October 4th, the Halloween season begins at the Swedish amusement park Liseberg. Until November 3rd, visitors can look forward to numerous spooky attractions, including the brand-new experiences “Sagoskogen” for younger children and “Nattsvart på Gasten” for daring adults. The autumn atmosphere, with its 30,000 pumpkins, adds the perfect Halloween touch.

Halloween season at Liseberg: Dates and offers

This year's Halloween season at Liseberg officially starts on October 4th and ends on November 3rd. Additionally, the family-friendly Kaninlandet will open early, from September 28th to October 3rd, as well as from October 14th to 17th. Here, younger visitors can enjoy playful pranks and sweets, while the rest of the park transforms into a spooky Halloween spectacle.

In total, the park will offer 35 rides this season, including five haunted houses and two special scare zones. Over 250 actors will contribute to the creepy atmosphere, giving guests plenty of frightful moments. In addition, 30,000 pumpkins, scarecrows, and other decorative elements will be spread throughout the park.

New in 2024: “Sagoskogen” – a child-friendly spooky experience

One of the most exciting new additions this year is the Sagoskogen attraction, designed specifically for children up to 11 years old. Here, the youngest visitors can encounter mythical creatures and take part in an interactive story. By using movements and sounds, the children can actively shape the storyline, making the experience even more engaging. Adult companions are also welcome to join, offering support when needed.

Lotta Carlsbogård, Head of Seasons & Events at Liseberg, describes the attraction as a “child-friendly haunted house,” giving children the opportunity to explore the boundary between fun and eerie excitement in a playful and safe way.

“Nattsvart på Gasten”: The ultimate horror experience for the brave

For older and braver guests, Liseberg has prepared a particularly dark attraction this year: Nattsvart på Gasten. This new version of the already well-known Hotell Gasten takes visitors through complete darkness. With no lights at all, colder temperatures, and a much eerier atmosphere, this experience is the ultimate challenge for thrill-seekers.

Throughout the Halloween season, visitors can choose how much scare they can handle—from family-friendly fun to terrifying attractions.

Park atmosphere and decorations

A significant part of the Halloween experience at Liseberg is the elaborate decorations. With 30,000 pumpkins, spooky scarecrows, and mysterious candy-filled surprises, the autumn setting creates a unique atmosphere. A simulated autumn storm adds to the spooky vibe, turning the entire park into a setting where coziness and creepiness blend seamlessly.

A steadily growing event

Since the introduction of the Halloween season in 2015, this event has become a permanent fixture in Liseberg’s program. Each year, new attractions are added to provide visitors with fresh and exciting spooky experiences. With this year's additions, Liseberg once again sets the standard for Halloween events in Europe, offering the perfect mix of fright and fun for everyone.
