He emphasizes that Kraftverket strikes a perfect balance between adrenaline-pumping excitement and a family-friendly concept, appealing to both younger audiences and seasoned amusement park enthusiasts.
Strategic Location and Long-Term Development
The new attraction is in the park’s southern area, tucked beneath Valkyria, one of Liseberg’s most renowned rides. This location was carefully chosen to optimize the park’s limited space while offering visitors a seamless and exciting experience. Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg, highlights the strategic importance of this decision, describing Kraftverket as a vital component of the park’s long-term development plans for its southern section. The idea of Kraftverket has been in development since Valkyria’s construction in 2016. Now, with the vision finally realized, this new addition further diversifies the attractions in this area of the park and elevates the overall experience for visitors.
Modern technology with a nostalgic twist
For long-time fans of the park, Kraftverket will evoke memories of the original Breakdance ride that operated between 1987 and 1993. However, this updated version leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver a next-level experience. By blending nostalgia with innovation, Kraftverket establishes itself as a unique and essential addition to Liseberg. The attraction's technical specifications highlight its versatility. With a diameter of 16.5 meters and a capacity of 40 passengers across 20 gondolas, Kraftverket offers both high throughput and rider comfort. The height requirement—140 cm or 120 cm with an accompanying adult—ensures accessibility for families and thrill-seekers alike.
