On World Children's Day, September 20, Peppa Pig from the newly opened PEPPA PIG Park visited the Ellinor-Holland-Haus in Augsburg. For more than two hours, the beloved children's character brought joy to the little ones with games, gifts, and a heartwarming atmosphere, making the day unforgettable.
A Memorable Visit for World Children's Day
To celebrate World Children's Day, LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort surprised the residents of Ellinor-Holland-Haus with an exceptional guest: Peppa Pig, the star of the new PEPPA PIG Park in Günzburg. The visit took place on September 20, creating an exciting event that placed children from the social care facility at the center of attention. Peppa Pig, well-known from the popular TV series, entertained families with gifts and activities tailored specifically for the young residents.
Peppa Pig dances the “Piggle Wiggle”
The excitement was palpable as Peppa Pig entered the communal room at Ellinor-Holland-Haus. Children and parents gathered eagerly to meet their favorite characters up close. Peppa greeted everyone with a joyful dance and encouraged the children to join in the “Piggle Wiggle.” The room filled with the sound of laughter, and the children's happiness was evident as everyone danced and sang together.
Photos and Keepsakes for the Little Ones
In addition to the dance and sing-along, the children took the opportunity to have their own special moments with Peppa Pig. Many children, including little Zanele, seized the chance to take photos with their hero. Zanele was so excited that she held on to Peppa for several minutes. Parents were equally moved, like Sandra, who expressed her joy at seeing her children so carefree: “Peppa is truly her absolute hero. I can't believe she's actually here!”
Gifts to Brighten the Children’s Day
Alongside the fun activities, Peppa Pig brought gift bags for the children, generously provided by Hasbro. The colorful bags were filled with Peppa-themed toys, figurines, vehicles, and interactive playsets. Clio, age three, and her sister Samira beamed as they cuddled their new plush toys, while five-year-old Themba zoomed around the room with Grandpa Dog’s tow truck, his new favorite toy.
A Strong Display of Social Commitment
Peppa Pig’s visit was more than just a moment of fun for the children; it was also a reflection of the social commitment of the Merlin Group and LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort. Manuela Stone, Managing Director of LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort, emphasized the significance of World Children's Day: “As a family theme park, it is close to our hearts to bring children moments of joy and happiness, especially today.”
Support for Families in Need
Ellinor-Holland-Haus provides shelter and support for families in crisis. Many of the children living in this facility have faced difficult times. Susanne Weinreich, the educational director of the house, expressed her gratitude for Peppa’s visit: “Many of our residents, especially the children, have been through tough times. It’s wonderful to see them enjoying Peppa Pig’s visit and forgetting their worries, even if just for a moment.”
An Ongoing Initiative by the Merlin Group
The visit was part of a larger initiative by the Merlin Group and LEGOLAND® Deutschland Resort, which engage in charitable activities throughout the year. Through their charitable organization, “Merlin’s Magic Wand,” the theme park regularly supports families in need and social institutions in the region. Peppa Pig’s appearance was yet another demonstration of the organization's long-standing commitment.
