On May 3, 2025, the Legoland® Deutschland Resort will launch the first LEGO® Festival, a global event by the LEGO® Group and Merlin Entertainments celebrating the power of play. Over six weekends until June 22, families in Günzburg will enjoy an experience filled with creativity, fun, and imagination, featuring five themed zones and 49 new LEGO® models.

Festival Kickoff: A Global Call to Play

The LEGO® Festival will start on May 3, 2025, across seven LEGOLAND® Resorts worldwide: Billund, California, Florida, Korea, New York, Windsor, and Deutschland. While most parks conclude on World Play Day, June 11, the Legoland® Deutschland Resort will extend the celebration past the Whitsun holidays until June 22. Dance, music, building, and gaming will take center stage, making play the top priority. Guests will be greeted with a unique photo opportunity at the “Ich LIEBE Spielen” model, tailored to each park, and every child will receive a festival lanyard before exploring the five themed zones.

Five Themed Zones for Creative Adventures

Visitors will dive into five interactive areas: music, creativity, dance, gaming, and relaxation. Across all participating parks, 49 new large-scale LEGO® models will inspire hands-on fun. The day’s highlight comes with the “Play Pakt,” where kids pledge to build more, laugh louder, explore new things, and keep playing. This promise reflects the festival’s core belief that play can transform the world if kids were in charge, encouraging families to embrace its transformative power together.

Global Impact for Disadvantaged Children

For every completed “Play Pakt,” Merlin Entertainments and the LEGO® Group will provide 100,000 play hours in LEGOLAND® Resorts to disadvantaged children and their families worldwide. This initiative turns the festival into more than just a fun event—it’s a commitment to sharing playtime globally. The celebration ties into World Play Day on June 11, honoring the United Nations-recognized International Day of Play and urging families everywhere to make time for play.

The Vision Behind the First Kids’ Festival

Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, highlights the event’s significance: “LEGOLAND® Resorts are often a child’s first theme park experience. The LEGO® Festival creates a space where creativity and imagination know no bounds, fostering social bonds, playful learning, and free expression.” David Buxbaum, Senior Vice President of the LEGO® Group, adds: “Play is vital for every child’s growth and joy. This festival embodies our dedication to creativity and imagination, inviting families to make unforgettable memories.” Designed as the first festival experience for kids, it brings the joy of LEGO® play to life.

A Festival with Lasting Potential

Spanning seven resorts in five countries over six weekends, this unique event unites families globally and could become a lasting tradition. The LEGO® Group and Merlin Entertainments have teamed up to bring the thrill of LEGO® play to life in a spectacular way. With engaging zones and stunning models, the Legoland® Deutschland Resort will be a hub of imagination and joy in 2025, championing play as a way of life.
