Holiday Park in Germany is actively engaging in environmental conservation. With the construction of a new wild bee hotel and the establishment of a large flowering area in Majaland, the park aims to highlight the importance of bee conservation and biodiversity. Information boards at the site offer both children and adults practical tips on how they can contribute to protecting bees at home.
Location of the Bee Hotel: Honeycomb Design in Majaland
The bee hotel, located near the popular “Flip, the Grasshopper” attraction, stands out with its unique honeycomb design. It was developed by “Bee Friendly,” a regional start-up founded by Sascha Sychov, Dominik Hümmer, and Michael Watson. Their goal is to provide wild bees and insects with a safe habitat and raise awareness about the alarming issue of insect decline.“We humans are constantly taking up more space, which destroys the natural habitat of many insect species. Our projects aim to create artificial refuges for wild bees,” explains co-founder Michael Watson. In addition, workshops are offered at the site to educate visitors about the importance of protecting bee habitats.
