After 52 years, Holiday Park in Haßloch embarks on a new era: starting June 28, 2025, it will bear the name Plopsaland Deutschland. With over 100 million euros in investments, the park will transform into a leading family resort in Europe. The journey begins in summer 2025, boosting tourism in Rheinland-Pfalz.
A Theme Park on the Rise
From summer 2025, Holiday Park will evolve into Plopsaland Deutschland, marking one of Germany’s largest theme park projects. New themed areas and attractions will shape this development. Kicking off on April 5, 2025, the Blinky Bill Zone will introduce three family-friendly attractions centered around the Australian koala Blinky Bill. On the same day, the new Biene Maja Show will launch daily in the indoor theater, running for about 20 minutes and targeting preschoolers and families. In summer 2025, an immersive indoor attraction featuring Die Schlümpfe will open, guiding guests through a richly designed world with interactive elements and a continuous gondola system, appealing to all ages with its high throughput capacity.
Family Highlights Starting 2025
The Plopsa Festival will debut in summer 2025, bringing a daily parade with characters like Biene Maja, Wickie, Heidi, Tabaluga, Blinky Bill, and Die Schlümpfe along a 500-meter route, complete with five intricately crafted floats. A concluding show on the main stage, featuring original music, will enhance the experience. Also in summer 2025, the Schlümpfe Show will begin in the indoor theater, lasting around 20 minutes and catering to families. In fall 2025, the „100% Wolf“ family coaster will launch, themed after the animated film. Spanning 760 meters with a height of 17.5 meters and a top speed of 55 km/h, it offers forward and backward rides, including a „Spike“ element, for families with children aged six and up. Three trains will ensure a capacity of about 1,000 riders per hour.
Thrills and Future Vision
Expedition GeForce remains a standout, ranked among the world’s top coasters. In the coming years, a high-intensity coaster developed with Tomorrowland will join the lineup, featuring a magnetic launch, rotating cars, and inversions, making it unique in Germany. „With these investments, we’re laying the foundation for a year-round offering that puts modern families first,“ says Bernd Beitz, Director Germany of the Plopsa Group. Since Plopsa’s takeover in 2010, 50 million euros have been invested, doubling visitor numbers and steadily expanding the park’s offerings.
Plopsaqua Haßloch: Water Park by 2028
By early 2028, Plopsaqua Haßloch will emerge as a modern water park in Haßloch, delivering weather-independent fun with multiple water slides, a wave pool, a pool bar, several swimming pools, a dedicated kids’ area, and sauna and relaxation zones. Themed around Plopsa characters, it prioritizes a family-friendly atmosphere. „Our aim is to establish Haßloch as one of Europe’s top family leisure resorts,“ Beitz explains.
Boosting Regional Tourism
Starting in 2025, a partner hotel program with local accommodations will encourage multi-day stays. „We’re making a sustainable contribution to the tourism and economic growth of Rheinland-Pfalz,“ Beitz emphasizes. Part of Belgium’s Studio 100, the Plopsa Group integrates the site into its global family-focused portfolio. The rebranding, planned over two years with market research and working groups, enhances brand recognition and visibility.
From Märchenpark to Modern Experience
Since opening in 1970 as Märchenpark Haßloch, the park has reinvented itself multiple times. Following its 2010 acquisition by the Plopsa Group, it grew into an experience world with characters like Biene Maja and Wickie. It will operate as Holiday Park from April 5 to June 27, 2025, before officially becoming Plopsaland Deutschland on June 28, 2025. „This rebranding is a logical step to showcase our long-term vision,“ Beitz notes.
