The Heide Park Festival, initially promoted as “Europe’s unique EDM & Pop festival,” has recently caused significant confusion and frustration among visitors. The organizer, “Highlight Production GmbH,” is now facing heavy criticism due to inadequate communication and last-minute changes.
Confusion Due to a Lack of Information
The festival was originally supposed to interrupt the normal operations of Heide Park, transforming the entire venue into a massive festival stage. Despite thousands of tickets being sold, communication about the event remained scarce for a long time. Eventually, it was announced that Heide Park would remain open during the festival, leading to further uncertainty.
Critical Voices and Disappointed Visitors
The announcement that the park would remain open alongside the festival caused significant concern. Different access regulations for regular park visitors and festival attendees were poorly communicated, which exacerbated the confusion. Many fans expressed disappointment and confusion on social media, as it remains unclear how the event will be successfully managed under these conditions.
Organizer’s Statement: “It Was Just Stupid”
David Davood from “Highlight Production GmbH” addressed the criticism in a Facebook video. He apologized for the confusion and explained the difficult situation in the events' industry, which has been affected by declining ticket sales and rising costs. Despite selling 18,000 tickets, the expected numbers were much higher, leading to some regrettable decisions. “Canceling was never an option for us,” Davood emphasized, asking for understanding regarding the decisions made.
Different Access Rights for Park and Festival Visitors
During the festival weekend, Heide Park will remain open to regular visitors, though they will not have access to the festival grounds. Conversely, certain areas of the park will be reserved exclusively for festival attendees. The organizer assures that festival-goers will enjoy a unique experience that will differ significantly from that of regular park visitors.
The organizer hopes that visitors can understand the current situation and that the event will be successful despite the initial communication issues.
