Since April 2024, Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac has thrilled visitors at Europa-Park. This innovative Multi Launch Coaster, located in the Kroatien themed area, earned the prestigious TEA Thea Award in the Attractions category from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) in late 2024. The award was presented to the Mack family during the Thea Award Gala in Los Angeles.
Top Industry Honor for Voltron Nevera
The TEA Thea Award stands as one of the highest accolades in the entertainment industry. With this recognition, Europa-Park becomes the first European theme park to join the ranks of giants like Disney and Universal. Globally, only two other roller coasters have received this esteemed award before. Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and CEO of MACK One, accepted the honor alongside his sister Ann-Kathrin Mack, managing partner responsible for MACK Solutions and marketing, and his wife Miriam Mack, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia and head of occupational health management at the MACK Group. “We are incredibly proud of the TEA Thea Award for Voltron Nevera. Roller coasters rarely receive this distinction, which highlights how unique, innovative, and thrilling this coaster is. It also affirms the dedication of all MACK Group divisions involved in this exceptional attraction,” Michael Mack stated.
Immersive Experience with Nikola Tesla
Voltron Nevera weaves a captivating story around Nikola Tesla, the Croatian-born scientist and inventor. Alongside the legendary Adventure Club of Europe, he ushers in the electric age, a narrative that threads through the ride and its themed area. Spanning 1,385 meters, this Multi Launch Coaster features groundbreaking elements, including the world’s steepest launch at 105 degrees. The track winds through an authentic Kroatien landscape adorned with light limestone, ruins, wall fragments, and lush vegetation, including an 800-year-old olive tree that enhances the Mediterranean ambiance.
Innovation and Craftsmanship by the MACK Group
The TEA jury praised the cohesive experience, from storytelling and intricate theming to the coaster’s technical execution. Designed as a “Stryker Coaster” by MACK Rides, a division of the MACK Group, the project brought together various teams, including MACK Solutions and MACK One, to bring it to life. Europa-Park owner Roland Mack emphasized, “This recognition proves once again that Europa-Park sets global standards. Voltron Nevera embodies what Europa-Park has stood for over 50 years: an unmatched blend of creativity, quality, and passion.”
