For ten years, Mauritia Mack, ambassador of the Bundesverband Kinderhospiz e.V., has invited families with children facing life-limiting illnesses to Europa-Park during the winter season. In 2025, this initiative celebrates its 10th anniversary, offering families a much-needed break from their daily challenges with a day filled with joy, relaxation, and memorable moments.

This winter, Germany's largest theme park once again opened its gates to host these families. Following a group gathering, the guests explored the park’s 17 European-themed areas, all adorned with lovingly crafted winter decorations. With over 100 attractions available, the families enjoyed a day immersed in an atmosphere of connection and lightheartedness.

Emotionally Moving Highlights

The day featured special experiences tailored to the needs of the guests. The Zirkus Revue delivered a captivating show that delighted children and adults alike. In the Kambly Winter Bakery, children expressed their creativity by decorating gingerbread, while the “Janosch im Europa-Park” exhibition fascinated visitors with its artistic displays and storytelling.

Mauritia Mack shared her heartfelt reflections on the event: “Europa-Park is a place of joy, connection, and laughter. It is deeply moving to see how the affected children and their families can experience a few carefree hours here. I hope these moments provide strength for the challenges of daily life.”

Support Through Donations

In addition to the activities within the park, the initiative also received financial support. During an Advent service hosted by the “Kirche im Europa-Park,” pastors Andrea Ziegler and Thomas Schneeberger collected €1,000 in donations. This amount was presented to Alexandra Fluck, head of family support at Bundesverband Kinderhospiz e.V., during the winter event.

Year-Round Commitment Beyond Winter

The support for these families extends beyond the winter season. Last October, Mauritia Mack invited families from the Bundesverband Kinderhospiz e.V. to Europa-Park to mark World Hospice Day. This year-round initiative underscores the importance of providing not only material but also emotional assistance to families in need.

A Place of Hope and Connection

Europa-Park represents more than just entertainment—it is a symbol of hope and a place where families facing challenging circumstances can draw new strength. The winter atmosphere, combined with a variety of attractions and a thoughtfully curated program, makes the park a unique and uplifting experience for all involved.

“The strength, courage, and zest for life shown by these children and their families deeply move me every time,” said Mauritia Mack, who plans to continue her unwavering support for the association and its work in the future.
