On May 1st, a special season begins at Europa-Park: the beer garden season. This year, the traditional maypole-raising near the German Alley is set to attract numerous visitors once again.
Bavarian-Baden Tradition in the Heart of Germany
Europa-Park celebrates the traditional raising of the maypole on May 1st. This centuries-old tradition marks not only the start of the beer garden season but also a festival of community and spring.
Festivities start at 11:30 a.m.
Before the maypole is ceremoniously erected at 12:00 PM, the day starts with live music. Visitors can look forward to a band that presents Bavarian folk music and modern pieces in a fresh arrangement.
Maypole Raising: A Spectacle
A team of twelve craftsmen will skillfully erect the nearly 15-meter-tall tree. This ritual, requiring skill and precision, attracts a crowd every year.
Culinary Delights and Games in the Beer Garden
After the official part, the fun begins in the Bavarian-Baden beer garden. Typical delicacies such as pretzels, white sausages, and various local beers will be offered. Entertainment includes traditional games like “Hau den Lukas” and beer mug pushing.
An Inclusive Experience
The event is included in the regular admission price of the park, ensuring that every visitor has the opportunity to participate and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
