In recent days, the renowned Europa-Park in Rust has been more than just a hotspot for thrill-seekers. Amidst roller coasters and themed areas, the 4-star Superior Hotel "Santa Isabel" served as the backdrop for the 13th State Association Meeting of Businesswomen in Craftsmanship of Baden-Württemberg e.V. An entire weekend dedicated to the future of the craft industry.

Guided by the core message "Without Craftsmanship – No Change", the event brought together women from all facets of the craft sector. The aim was to discuss current challenges, explore solutions, and gather innovative ideas for the years ahead.

The gathering kicked off with heartfelt welcoming words from Ruth Baumann, the President of the Businesswomen in Craftsmanship (UFH). Her speech set the tone for two days of intense exchange, addressing both the present state of craftsmanship and its potential future trajectories.

A particularly impactful address came from Mauritia Mack. As the wife of Europa-Park owner Jürgen Mack, and stemming from an architectural family background, she passionately spoke about the deep-rooted connection between the park and craftsmanship. "Behind every roller coaster, every intricate detail, and each culinary experience is the craft industry. Without the expertise and dedication of craftsmen and craftswomen, many of the attractions that Europa-Park is known for would simply not be feasible," she emphasized.

The event also attracted distinguished guests from the realms of politics and business. A standout moment was the speech delivered by the former Mayor of Offenburg, Edith Schreiner. She touched upon the pivotal issues facing the craft industry today, with a particular focus on the challenge of attracting new talent. A lack of skilled professionals in the sector could potentially have profound implications for the German economy and infrastructure, and Ms. Schreiner underscored the importance of initiatives promoting the craft profession to younger generations.

In summary, the State Association Meeting of Businesswomen not only provided an opportunity for networking and discussion but also sent a clear message about the need to bolster and champion craftsmanship as a cornerstone of the German economy. It remains to be seen which positive impulses and strategies from this meeting will resonate throughout the broader craft landscape, shaping the future of this vital industry.
