In Baden-Württemberg, the annual “Junior.ING” student competition of the Engineering Chamber once again impressed with creative constructions. Students were tasked with designing and building their own marble runs under the theme “Roller Coaster - Upside Down and Over.” The most cleverly engineered tracks were recognized during the competition.

Winners of the Competition

This year's winners were ceremoniously announced at the Europa-Park Dome. Romi and Marie Rettinger captivated the judges in the category for students up to grade 8 with their model, “Tran-Tem-Tem.” In the older student category, Oliver Wrobel, Dennis Langhof, Friedrich Enderle, and Elias Jonsson impressed with their design “5 of 5,” which notably featured innovative mechanisms such as a tension spring that propels a marble through a loop without any incline.

The competition, which is held nationwide, aims to spark interest in engineering professions and practically engage students with engineering tasks. Sandra Boser, State Secretary at the Ministry for Culture, Youth, and Sports, emphasized the importance of promoting STEM careers at the award ceremony and praised the creativity and technical understanding of the participants.
