Sternsinger in Europa-Park: A Call for Children’s Rights and Solidarity

On January 5, 2025, Europa-Park welcomed around 100 Sternsinger (Star Singers) who delivered their traditional blessing, "Christus mansionem benedicat," as a powerful symbol of solidarity and advocacy for children’s rights. The Dreikönigssingen (Epiphany Singing), one of the largest solidarity campaigns by children for children, unites thousands of young people each year to raise funds for underprivileged children.

A Special Visit to Europa-Park

The young Sternsinger, dressed in elaborate robes and adorned with golden crowns, represented groups from Kämpfelbachtal, Appenweier-Durbach, as well as delegations from France and Switzerland. They delivered the traditional blessing, "Christus mansionem benedicat – May Christ bless this house," at the entrance of the "Voletarium" attraction. This act symbolizes not only the New Year’s blessing but also a commitment to supporting children in need worldwide.

Dreikönigssingen: A Decades-Long Commitment

For 67 years, the Dreikönigssingen campaign has been one of the largest global solidarity movements led by children. Each year, approximately 300,000 young people across Germany participate in this effort to collect donations for disadvantaged children. The campaign is organized by the Kindermissionswerk "Die Sternsinger" and the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ). With the support of all 27 dioceses in Germany, the campaign ensures that aid reaches the places where it is needed most.

Impressive Results and Their Impact

In 2024, the Dreikönigssingen campaign raised an impressive €46 million across Germany. These funds support a variety of projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, and Eastern Europe. They are used to fund educational programs, medical care, child protection, social integration initiatives, and emergency aid. By providing not only immediate assistance but also long-term perspectives, the campaign makes a lasting difference in the lives of children facing challenging circumstances.
