The accolade recognizes his entrepreneurial achievements and talent for connecting cultures through innovative entertainment. Today, more than six million guests visit Europa-Park and the adjacent Wasserwelt Rulantica each year. His commitment to supporting people facing life’s challenges also shines through. Since 2013, Mack has hosted the RADIO REGENBOGEN Award, which introduces this special prize for the first time in 2025.
50 Years of Europa-Park: A Milestone Celebration
Roland Mack founded Europa-Park in July 1975 alongside his father, Franz. Since then, nearly 150 million visitors have explored Germany’s largest Freizeitpark. The Mack family has invested over one billion euros without relying on public funding. In 2025, the park celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of events. Globally, Mack is regarded as a visionary and driving force in the Freizeitpark industry.
A Family Business with Worldwide Impact
Roland Mack leads an exemplary family enterprise. Together with his wife Marianne, their children, and his brother Jürgen and his family, he built Europa-Park from the ground up. At the same time, he elevated Mack Rides, a nearly 250-year-old manufacturer of amusement rides, to international success. Known as one of Germany’s most accomplished and unconventional family entrepreneurs, he has created cherished memories for millions of children and families.
French Influence and Unique Attractions
Mack’s deep connection to France is evident in the park’s French-themed area. The Eurosat – CanCan Coaster, an indoor roller coaster revamped in 2018 with Paris’s Moulin Rouge, offers guests a thrilling nighttime flight over the city. The „ARTHUR – Im Königreich der Minimoys“ ride draws from filmmaker Luc Besson’s successful trilogy.
