Europa-Park in Rust recently welcomed some high-profile guests: Prince Albert II of Monaco spent an exciting day at Germany’s largest theme park with his children, Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella. This wasn’t the first time the prince visited Europa-Park, but this family trip left a lasting impression—not just on the guests, but also on the park operators.

The princely family enjoyed numerous attractions and even took a trip to the Rulantica Water World. Prince Albert was particularly impressed with the new roller coaster, “Voltron Nevera,” calling it the “most amazing roller coaster ride” he had ever experienced. This statement reflects his enthusiasm for the park and the quality of its attractions.

Prince Albert: A big Europa-Park fan

In an interview, the monarch expressed great satisfaction with the park, stating, “My children and I have become big Europa-Park fans.” He praised the park’s diverse themes, the wide range of attractions, and its exemplary cleanliness. This praise from such a distinguished guest underscores the high standards that Europa-Park consistently provides to its visitors.

A special gesture from Europa-Park CEO Roland Mack

One of the highlights of the visit was the ride on the Swiss Bob Run, where Prince Albert received a special honor from Europa-Park CEO Roland Mack. Mack presented him with a custom-made bobsledding helmet, branded with Monaco’s emblem. This gesture was especially meaningful given Prince Albert's close connection to bobsledding.

A life dedicated to sports

In addition to his role as head of state, Prince Albert is also renowned for his sporting achievements. He competed in five consecutive Winter Olympics in bobsledding, from Calgary in 1988 to Salt Lake City in 2002. Athleticism runs in the family: His maternal grandfather and uncle won rowing medals for the USA. Since 1985, Prince Albert has been a member of the International Olympic Committee, and in 1994, he became president of Monaco’s Olympic Committee.
