The Family Café in Offenburg recently celebrated its tenth anniversary in a special way: Mauritia Mack, honorary member of the Child Protection Association Ortenau e.V., invited the children and families to an unforgettable day at Europa-Park. This generous gift brought smiles to their faces and offered the families a day full of joy and togetherness.

Invitation from Mauritia Mack: A Special Occasion

Mauritia Mack, who is actively involved as an honorary member of the Child Protection Association Ortenau e.V., invited participants of the Family Café Alleleut from Offenburg to a special outing at Europa-Park. The invitation was made to mark the tenth anniversary of the Family Café, which has been an important community hub for families in the Stegermatt district since its inception. This invitation was a wonderful gift that gave the children and their families an unforgettable experience at one of Europe’s largest theme parks.

The Family Café Alleleut: A Place of Connection and Support

The Family Café Alleleut, operated in collaboration with the Stegermatt District and Family Center and the Child Protection Association Ortenau e.V., has developed into a vital meeting place for families over the past ten years. Under the leadership of social worker Beate Bleyer-Hansert and educator Christine Blattmann, the café offers regular gatherings where families can exchange ideas and support each other. In addition to providing advice and holding discussions, the café also offers age-appropriate play and crafting activities for children.

Weekly Gatherings and Monthly Brunches: Emphasizing Togetherness

Every Wednesday, families from the Stegermatt district meet at the Family Café Alleleut to exchange ideas and receive advice in a familiar atmosphere. While the parents engage in conversations, the children participate in activities tailored to their age, organized by the café’s professional staff. A special highlight is the monthly intergenerational brunch, where everyone is invited to bring a dish to share and enjoy together. This event fosters a sense of community and facilitates interactions between different generations.

The Philosophy of the Family Café: It Takes a Village to Raise a Child

The work at the Family Café Alleleut is guided by an African proverb that says it takes a whole community of adults and children to positively raise a child. This philosophy is reflected in all the café's activities, which aim to build a strong network for participating families and provide support in all aspects of life.
