The fact that Europa-Park has a Croatian-themed area this season is largely thanks to Miriam Mack. The wife of Michael Mack, co-owner of Europa-Park, was born in Stuttgart, but her Croatian roots are a significant part of her identity. Her parents came to Germany as guest workers in the 1960s and maintained a close connection to their homeland. For Miriam Mack, Croatia is more than just a vacation destination; it is her “place of energy.” This deep connection is also reflected in her work: she played a key role in the design of the new Croatian-themed area at Europa-Park and sees it as her mission to make people aware of Croatia as a “treasure of Europe.” She will also underscore this commitment by being appointed Honorary Consul of Croatia in September.

Insights into a Diverse Career

Miriam Mack grew up in Stuttgart, where her family placed great importance on education. After finishing school, she completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and worked in that profession for a year before deciding to pursue new opportunities. Through her sister, she landed her first modeling jobs and was soon booked for campaigns worldwide, which eventually led her to Milan. However, the life of a model not only opened up new professional avenues for her, but also sparked her interest in health topics.

During her modeling career, Miriam Mack decided to deepen this interest and pursued studies in holistic health counseling as well as health economics in the USA. After returning to Germany, she brought her newly acquired knowledge into the family business. At Europa-Park, she established the company’s health management program and continues to develop it. “The park thrives on its employees,” explains Miriam Mack, describing her motivation. Her work helps promote the well-being of the employees, thereby contributing to the success of the company.

A Special Bond: Miriam and Michael Mack

In 2008, Miriam Mack’s life took a decisive turn when she met her future husband, Michael Mack, online. The initial contact was made through a mutual friend on Facebook, and two years later, Michael proposed to her in style on the “Blue Fire Megacoaster.” The couple shares not only deep love but also common values such as groundedness and a love of adventure.

Miriam Mack has found her place within the Mack family and feels fulfilled in her role. Integrating into this storied family is not just a personal enrichment for her, but also a commitment to the generations before and after her. Early on, her father-in-law, Roland Mack, had her work at the main ticket counter of Europa-Park – an experience that helped her appreciate the park from a new perspective.

Places of Tranquility and Inspiration

In addition to her involvement at Europa-Park, Miriam Mack has personal retreats where she recharges. The Black Forest offers her the peace she needs to reconnect with herself, while the sea in Croatia has a decelerating effect on her. Another ritual that is important to her is the hot yoga sessions at Europa-Park: “90 minutes at 40 degrees Celsius are incredible,” she says.

Miriam Mack embodies a remarkable blend of worldliness and rootedness, which is evident in both her professional and personal lives. Her passion for Europa-Park and her commitment to Croatian culture make her a unique personality who shapes the face of the park.
