Europa-Park presents a world first: In the new Croatian-themed area, visitors can experience a lifelike animatronic of the visionary inventor Nikola Tesla. This impressive figure stands at the entrance of the roller coaster “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac” and was realized through a groundbreaking collaboration between MACK One and the five-time Oscar-winning special effects experts from Weta Workshop in New Zealand.

A Masterpiece of Modern Technology

The Nikola Tesla animatronic, a technological masterpiece, is composed of over 2000 individual parts and features 60 mechanical joints, 25 of which are located in the head. This advanced technology and realistic character design make the figure a “next-generation animatronic." Every 30 minutes, it captivates visitors with an electrifying show, showcasing the technical possibilities and creative potential of the involved teams.

Foundation for Future Developments

Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and founder of MACK One, and Richard Taylor, head of Weta Workshop, see this project as the beginning of a new era of interactive characters in theme parks. Their collaboration lays the foundation for future developments in this field, demonstrating how modern technology and creative expertise can work together to create unforgettable experiences.
