From October 24 to 26, the Confertainment Center at Europa-Park transformed into an interactive science hub: the “Science Days” drew thousands of young researchers, school groups, and families with a rich array of STEM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In cooperation with “Science & Technologie gGmbH,” the event showcased over 85 exhibitors and numerous interactive activities, making science both accessible and engaging.

An Interactive Discovery Journey for School Groups and Families

The Science Days catered to both school groups and the public over the three days: Thursday and Friday were reserved for school groups, while Saturday welcomed families from across the region to experience the event. For many families, the Science Days have become an annual tradition. One family expressed their enthusiasm: “It’s impressive how much is offered here and how well the children are guided and engaged. We’re happy to return to Rust every year because there’s always something new and interesting to discover.”

Over 85 exhibitors and diverse STEM activities

With over 85 exhibitors, the Science Days offered an impressive program: numerous workshops, challenging puzzles, virtual reality experiences, and experiments highlighted the creativity and excitement behind STEM fields. Popular stations like the “Heißer Draht” game (Steady Hand Game) provided hands-on insights into various technical professions and invited visitors to try out techniques like punching, bending, and soldering—an excellent way to learn about careers in the metalworking and electrical industries.

Science Days 2024 Exceed Last Year’s Visitor Numbers

The Science Days 2024 exceeded last year’s attendance with thousands of visitors, showing a growing interest in STEM fields. “The Science Days at Europa-Park were once again a complete success for us. The children’s enthusiasm, the dedicated commitment of the exhibitors, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from visitors show us just how vital it is to make STEM tangible and experiential,” stated Stephanie Bürklin, Project Manager of the Science Days.

STEM Education as a Key to the Future: Europa-Park Owner Stresses its Importance

Europa-Park owner Jürgen Mack shared his positive assessment of the event and emphasized the importance of STEM education: “The Science Days are not only a celebration of science and technology but also an important opportunity for us to inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers. We firmly believe that STEM education is key to a successful future, and we are thrilled to present these topics in a way that is accessible to everyone.” This sentiment underscores Europa-Park’s commitment to fostering interest in STEM education.

Special Recognition for Michael Kreft von Byern

During this year’s Science Days, Michael Kreft von Byern, Director of the Rulantica water world, was honored as an honorary member of the Science & Technologie e.V. association for his long-standing commitment and support since the Science Days’ inception. This honor places him among prominent supporters such as Roland and Jürgen Mack, who are also dedicated to promoting STEM education.
