Europa-Park celebrates another milestone in its history of success with the roller coaster “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac.” Since its debut in April 2024, this Multi Launch Coaster has captivated visitors in the Croatia-themed area. The attraction has now been honored with the prestigious TEA Thea Award in the category of Outstanding Achievement. Announced during the IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando, this renowned accolade will be formally presented at a gala event in Los Angeles in March 2025.

A Unique Innovation: Voltron Nevera

The roller coaster “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac” epitomizes the creativity and innovation that define Europa-Park and its development team. Featuring the world’s steepest launch at 105 degrees and a track length of 1,385 meters, the Multi Launch Coaster delivers a ride experience that impresses both technically and thematically. Set in an authentic Croatian landscape with limestone ruins, weathered walls, lush vegetation, and an 800-year-old olive tree, the attraction transports riders to a Mediterranean environment.

Beyond its physical design, the coaster weaves a compelling narrative inspired by Nikola Tesla, the renowned scientist born in what is now Croatia. The story is further enhanced by the involvement of the fictional Adventure Club of Europe, adding an adventurous and imaginative layer to the experience. The technical development of Voltron Nevera was carried out by MACK Rides, a leading manufacturer of theme park attractions. As a “Stryker Coaster,” the ride combines precise engineering with innovative ride elements to create an unparalleled experience. Conceptualization and theming were undertaken by MACK One, with various MACK Group divisions contributing to the project. This collaborative effort resulted in a unique experience that delights both visitors and industry professionals alike.

The TEA Thea Award: A Distinguished Honor

The TEA Thea Awards are among the highest honors in the entertainment and leisure industry. Recognizing outstanding achievements across categories such as attractions, shows, and innovative technologies, the awards are celebrated annually. The announcement of this year’s winners took place during the IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando, the world’s largest trade fair for the leisure industry. The formal award presentation will take place at a gala event in Los Angeles in March 2025.

A Legacy of Excellence at Europa-Park

This is not Europa-Park’s first TEA recognition. In 2012, the park was honored for its innovative loop restaurant “FoodLoop,” followed by the award for “ARTHUR” in 2017 for Best Ride System. More recently, family-friendly attractions like “Snorri Touren” and the immersive dining experience “Eatrenalin” have received similar accolades. Roland Mack himself was awarded the “Buzz Price Award” in 2023 for his lifetime achievements.
