Europa-Park in Rust has once again been recognized as a “Digital-Champion” among Germany’s theme parks in 2025. A comprehensive study by DEUTSCHLAND TEST, commissioned by “Focus Money,” confirms this achievement. Scoring a perfect 100 points, the resort leads the industry in digitalization efforts.
Leader in Digital Innovation
The “Digital-Champions 2025” study evaluated around 15,000 companies based on their digital expertise. Surveys and hundreds of millions of statements from digital media were analyzed to identify leaders in advancing digitalization. The focus was on innovative technologies, strategic foresight, and a forward-thinking corporate culture. Europa-Park achieved the highest score in the theme and amusement park category, solidifying its position as an industry frontrunner.
Digital Tools for Visitors
Europa-Park enhances the guest experience with digital solutions. Since 2016, the Europa-Park & Rulantica app has allowed visitors to purchase tickets and navigate the park interactively. In 2020, the app introduced VirtualLine, enabling guests to make the most of their waiting time. They can reserve a slot for specific attractions and enjoy other offerings, such as dining, in the meantime. With Voltron ChARge, app users can explore the new Multi Launch Coaster “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac” through an interactive augmented reality experience from home.
Pioneering VR and AR
Globally recognized as a driving force in virtual and augmented reality within the theme park industry, Europa-Park continues to innovate. In 2020, MACK One set a milestone with the virtual reality attraction YULLBE, redefining entertainment formats. Attractions like Eurosat Coastiality and Alpenexpress Coastiality blend virtual worlds with the authentic thrill of real rollercoaster rides. Germany’s largest theme park is currently working on numerous additional digitalization projects, both for guests and behind the scenes.
VEEJOY Streaming Platform
Since 2022, the dedicated streaming platform VEEJOY has consolidated all multimedia content related to the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort. This extends the park experience beyond its physical boundaries. Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and CEO of MACK One, emphasizes the importance of this trend. He believes theme parks must embrace further digitalization to ensure growth, a direction strongly supported by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests.
