Christine Schönhuber, the new managing director of Tourismus Marketing Baden-Württemberg, recently visited Europa-Park. She met with owner Roland Mack and managing partner Ann-Kathrin Mack to discuss the park’s vital role in regional tourism. As a key economic driver, the park attracts over six million visitors annually.
50th Anniversary: New Attractions at Europa-Park
Europa-Park celebrates its 50th anniversary this year with exciting new additions. At the start of the season, the interactive 3D dark ride “GRAND PRIX EDventure” opened, inviting guests to join Ed and Edda on a journey across Europe. From early summer, visitors can explore the new “Svømmepøl” in the Rulantica water world. Additionally, the former Camp Resort is being transformed into Silver Lake City, enhancing the guest experience step by step.
Driving Economic Growth in the Region
A study by the University of St. Gallen highlights Europa-Park’s pivotal role in southwest Germany’s tourism. The park generates high nine-figure revenues annually in Baden-Württemberg. Having visited multiple times, Schönhuber praised its diverse offerings and unique atmosphere. She noted that Europa-Park not only captivates families but also strengthens the region’s position as a leading European tourism hub through its blend of innovation, experiences, and hospitality.
Looking Ahead: A Year-Round Destination
Roland Mack emphasized that Europa-Park has established the region as a top short-break destination globally. With a commitment to quality and ongoing innovation, the park aims to solidify this standing. The expansion of the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort into a year-round destination is a key focus. New experiences and a diverse range of offerings will draw visitors throughout the year, reinforcing the region’s reputation as a tourism highlight beyond Germany’s borders.
