Europa-Park is expanding its commitment to its employees with a new project: transforming the former St. Marien nursing home in Ettenheimmünster into modern employee housing. This is part of a long-term strategy aimed at creating attractive working conditions and securing qualified staff for the future.
Transformation of the nursing home into employee housing
As one of Europe’s leading theme parks, Europa-Park places great importance on the well-being of its employees. With the purchase of the former St. Marien nursing home and its conversion into residential housing, a sustainable living concept tailored to employee needs is being realized. The goal of this project is to provide affordable housing close to the workplace, ease daily commutes, and improve the quality of life for staff.
Exclusive Housing for Europa-Park Employees
The new apartments will be reserved exclusively for employees of Europa-Park and its associated group of companies. This ensures that the housing benefits those who contribute to the park’s daily success. The minimum lease term for the apartments is six months, providing staff with stable and reliable living arrangements.
Parking and Infrastructure Support
To support the local infrastructure, Europa-Park will provide sufficient parking spaces for residents. This measure aims to reduce pressure on public parking areas and offer employees convenient access to their new homes. Additionally, the park will ensure that both the building and its surrounding grounds are maintained to the usual high standards, guaranteeing a pleasant and well-kept living environment for employees.
House Rules and On-Site Maintenance
To promote smooth cohabitation within the residential complex and in the surrounding neighborhood, a set of house rules will be introduced. These guidelines are designed to minimize noise and other disruptions for nearby residents. Furthermore, an on-site maintenance service will be available, with a dedicated caretaker acting as a key point of contact for residents, neighbors, and the local community. The caretaker will also be responsible for the upkeep of the building and ensuring a harmonious living environment.
Europa-Park’s Long-Term Employee Strategy
This project forms a central part of Europa-Park's long-term strategy to increase employee satisfaction and retain qualified staff. The park already offers its employees a wide range of benefits, including an on-site health center, a daycare facility, and various leisure activities. By providing affordable housing, Europa-Park is further enhancing this package of employee benefits, positioning itself as an even more attractive employer.
Frederik Mack on the Project
“We want to offer our employees an attractive working environment, which includes affordable housing,” emphasizes Frederik Mack, HR Director at Europa-Park. “By transforming the former nursing home into employee apartments, we are creating additional housing options close to the workplace and continuing to invest in the future of our staff.”
