On June 13, Jürgen and Mauritia Mack, along with pastors Andrea Ziegler and Thomas Schneeberger, presented the new mascot Joy at Europa-Park. The introduction took place in the newly redesigned courtyard of the “El Andaluz” hotel.

The new mascot, Joy, combines Angel and Bumblebee

The new mascot Joy, a blend of angel and bumblebee, was introduced on June 13 by Jürgen and Mauritia Mack, alongside pastors Andrea Ziegler and Thomas Schneeberger at Europa-Park. The presentation occurred in the newly redesigned courtyard of the “El Andaluz” hotel.

Two Years of Development

The development of the mascot Joy took two years and was supported by Europa-Park, the Evangelical Church in Baden, and the Archdiocese of Freiburg. Several child reporters were also present and posed questions about the pastors and Mauritia Mack.

Joy as a Symbol of Joy and Hope

Mauritia Mack emphasized the significance of joy: “Joy symbolizes joy, hope, and community. It offers new, innovative opportunities for our guests and strengthens the connection to the 'Church in Europa-Park'. We believe that Joy will have an impact far beyond the park, in congregations, youth groups, and on social media.”

Interactive Experiences with Joy

Joy resides under the roof of the Norwegian Stave Church in Europa-Park. She enjoys sitting on visitors' shoulders, singing, performing flight tricks like loops, and offering a new perspective on the world. Joy features a heart on her chest for seeing and feeling, a halo that she rubs when thinking, and she blesses guests with glitter blessings.

Musical and Literary Contribution

During the presentation, a song specifically composed for Joy by Martin Buchholz and Fabian Vogt was introduced. The song and the mascot's presentation were highlights of the event.
