The enchanting world of Madame Freudenreich at Europa-Park will soon come to life on television. The new series “DINO MATES – Holidays at Madame Freudenreich’s” brings the beloved Europa-Park attraction and its popular picture book series to the screen, premiering exclusively on KiKA in 2025. Unveiled at the world’s largest television trade fair, MIPCOM in Cannes, this co-production by MACK Magic, Edel Kids, and KiKA promises to captivate young viewers aged six and up with its magical adventures.

An Adventure-Filled Summer in the Alsace Region

“DINO MATES – Holidays at Madame Freudenreich’s” follows siblings Sophie (10) and her older brother Leo as they spend their summer vacation with their grandmother Clara in the Alsace region. What begins as a typical holiday takes an unexpected turn when they discover real dinosaur eggs in their grandmother’s “Dragon Cave.” With the help of their newfound dinosaur friends, Sophie and Leo embark on an unforgettable adventure, learning important values like teamwork, solidarity, and courage in the face of the unknown.

From Theme Park Attraction to TV Series: A Successful Brand

Since its opening in 2018, the Madame Freudenreich Curiosités attraction at Europa-Park has captivated visitors of all ages. Based on this popular attraction, the Dinosaurier in Omas Garten picture book series has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide and is available in eight languages, including French, Danish, and Chinese. Building on this established brand, the DINO MATES series takes the storytelling world of Madame Freudenreich to a new level, adapting the tales of this charming Alsatian grandmother for television.

Production and Creative Collaboration

This TV series is a co-production by entertainment company MACK Magic, Hamburg-based Edel Kids, and the children’s network KiKA from Erfurt. Michael Mack, CEO of MACK Magic, leads the production alongside his experienced team, including Anne Tintinger and Tobias Mundinger, who ensure the creative direction. Animation production is handled by B-Water Animation Studio, led by Dirk Hampel. The content development is overseen by David Ginnuttis and Oliver Huzly, with editorial support from KiKA.

Exclusive Premiere and International Distribution

The first season of “DINO MATES – Holidays at Madame Freudenreich’s” will include 26 episodes, each lasting 11 minutes, and will premiere exclusively on KiKA in 2025. Studio 100 International will handle the global distribution and presented the series to an international audience of industry professionals at MIPCOM in Cannes, generating considerable interest among broadcasters and distribution partners worldwide.

Promoting Social Values Through Imaginative Adventures

The series, aimed at young viewers aged six and up, playfully explores themes of imagination, teamwork, and solidarity.
