CloudFest 2025 at Europa-Park: Einstein & MP3 Highlights

From March 17 to 20, 2025, the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort will host CloudFest, the world’s leading gathering of the cloud and hosting industry. Marking its 21st edition, the event has called Europa-Park home since 2011. The Confertainment Center and hotel resort provide the perfect setting for this prestigious occasion.

Exciting Program Featuring Albert Einstein and More

Under the theme “Finding your place in an AI world,” CloudFest 2025 will explore key topics like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and innovative services. A vast exhibition area and round-the-clock networking opportunities will be available. The stage program shines with standout guests, including a deep-fake Albert Einstein and Karlheinz Brandenburg, the inventor of the MP3 format. On March 18, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., a Fireside Chat with a digitally reconstructed Albert Einstein will take place via video call. Set in his 1950s Princeton office, he will reflect on his achievements and discuss the impact of modern technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and digital transformation on future generations, addressing ethical questions as well. This interactive experience allows participants to engage directly with the digital physicist.

MP3 Milestone and Tor Project Insights

On March 20, from 4:25 p.m. to 4:55 p.m., Karlheinz Brandenburg will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the MP3 format. He will showcase the groundbreaking technology that transformed music listening, production, and distribution, while sharing insights into his current projects and the future of audio technology. This innovation made it possible to carry thousands of songs in your pocket, empowered musicians worldwide to record and share music from home, and paved the way for iPods and streaming services. The day before, on March 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Roger Dingledine, co-founder of the Tor Project, will discuss its role in promoting privacy, anonymity, and censorship resistance. He will cover the network’s historical development, current challenges, and future outlook, highlighting its significance since its inception.

Fighting Information Poverty and Email Evolution

On March 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., George Sadowsky, a member of the Internet Hall of Fame, will present his life’s work. Since the 1960s, he has deployed information and communication technology in over 50 developing countries to combat information poverty and advance social and economic policies. His efforts focus on improving global technology access. Immediately following, from 3:05 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Dave Crocker will trace the 50-year evolution of email. He will demonstrate how this technology, one of the internet’s earliest and most enduring applications, has seen only gradual improvements since 1975, with an email from then looking nearly identical to one today.

Networking at Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort

In the evenings, CloudFest will offer unique experiences against the magical backdrop of Europa-Park. Participants will enjoy exceptional networking opportunities at the Piazza of the Hotel “Colosseo,” the stunning Hotel “Krønasår,” and the entrance area of Germany’s largest theme park. These events promise breathtaking entertainment to complement the program.
