Efteling announces a completely renewed Aquanura show, set to captivate visitors starting this winter. This impressive water show will be enhanced with new musical pieces and spectacular light installations.
Major Changes to Aquanura
Efteling is preparing to introduce a new version of the beloved Aquanura show. The final performances of the current versions, “Erste Efteling Symphonie” and “Zweite Efteling Symphonie,” are scheduled for September 1. Following this, extensive maintenance work will take place until mid-November. During this period, an alternative show will be presented to ensure that guests still have an enjoyable experience.
New Elements and Sustainability
The upcoming show will feature not only new musical pieces but also significant design changes. Four new eight-meter-high lanterns, known as “Bakens van Licht,” will be installed around the Aquanura lake. Additionally, the iconic frogs in the show will undergo a metamorphosis, giving them a refreshed appearance.
A key concern for Efteling is sustainability. Therefore, the previous fire effects and the use of propane will be eliminated. Instead, the park will fully transition to LED lighting, reducing gas consumption by 20%. These measures are part of Efteling's goal to become climate neutral by 2030 and climate positive by 2032.
Experience and Emotions
The new Aquanura show will feature technical innovations and have the ability to evoke emotions and memories for the visitors. It will be displayed in the heart of Efteling, near the soon-to-be-opened Efteling Grand Hotel. The show will further enrich the Efteling experience, concluding visitors' days with unforgettable moments.
Background Information
Last autumn, buildings in the Anderrijk area were connected to a heat-cold storage system (WKO). This allows for sustainable heating without the use of natural gas and ensures that the Aquanura lake remains ice-free in winter. This is another example of Efteling's commitment to environmental friendliness.
