Efteling has made an update at its entrance. Visitors are now greeted with a clear message about the park's smoking policy. A new multilingual sign, prominently placed at the entrance gate near the iconic House of the Five Senses, communicates this important policy change.

Clear Message: Efteling is Smoke-Free

The sign bears a straightforward message: “Efteling is smoke-free”. This reinforces the park's commitment to a healthy and family-friendly environment. Further clarification follows: while smokers are still welcome in the park, smoking is restricted to designated, segregated areas only. This rule is made accessible to an international audience with translations in English, German, and French.

Background: Evolution of Efteling's Smoking Policy

This latest initiative is part of Efteling's long-term strategy to regulate smoking within the park. Since late 2022, announcements about the smoking ban in four languages have been a regular feature. The need to further emphasize the smoking policy led to the installation of the new sign. Previously, this location displayed the park's current opening hours, which required frequent updates. The new permanent sign eliminates this necessity.

Digital Focus: Promoting the Efteling App

A second sign, situated a short distance away, emphasizes the park's digital direction. It directs visitors to download the official Efteling app to maximize their park experience. Both signs feature the new blue-green color scheme of the entrance area, introduced to mark the opening of the Efteling Grand Hotel. This color scheme symbolizes the park's continuous evolution and modernization.

A Step Towards the Future

With these updates, Efteling once again demonstrates its ability to respond to current needs and health standards while advancing digitalization. These changes underscore the park's endeavor to create a comprehensive, positive, and healthy experience for all visitors.
