In the heart of Efteling the legendary sweet shop “De Soete Inval,” situated at the picturesque Anton Pieckplein, undergoes a remarkable transformation. Renowned for offering an extensive assortment of delectable treats, the shop is currently undergoing meticulous renovations, with a special focus on preserving its historical charm.

A Touch of History in a Modern Guise

Paying homage to the past, the redesigned logo of “De Soete Inval” features a whimsical portrayal: a man whose head is artfully hidden in a beehive. This endearing illustration, drawn from an original sketch by Anton Pieck, already has a significant presence in the park as the emblem of the eatery “'t Korfje” near the Kleuterhof play area.

The name history of “De Soete Inval” is rich with transformations. Initially known as “'t Korfje” in the 90s, the shop received its current name in 1994. This change now leads to an exciting renaming: “'t Korfje” will soon be reintroduced under the name “'t Speelkwartiertje” along with a fresh logo.

Masterful Design by Bas van Rijsbergen

Bas van Rijsbergen, a creative force in Efteling's design team, is the mastermind behind the impressive makeover. His vision brings a vibrant candy celebration to the back wall of the shop, a scene that immerses visitors in an atmosphere brimming with delight and magic. Beehives, a central motif in the new design concept, also find their way into the revamped interior, creating unique highlights.

Contemporary Features and Charming Interim Solutions

The grand reopening of the shop is fast approaching and promises, alongside a nostalgic ambiance, modern features like a self-service checkout. During the renovation, Efteling provides guests with an appealing alternative: a temporary candy stand in close proximity. The Kleuterhof, a haven for the park's youngest visitors, will remain closed until March 9th to complete the renewal.

Timeless Tradition Meets Contemporary Elegance

“De Soete Inval” is on the verge of reopening its doors, skillfully combining reverence for tradition with the allure of modern design in its new guise. This project promises to be an irresistible experience not only for long-time Efteling fans but also for new visitors – a perfect blend of nostalgic sweetness and contemporary comfort.
