A new chapter is unfolding at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as work on an exciting new area themed around the tropical Americas is set to begin later this year. This 27-acre section will be known as Pueblo Esperanza and is designed to evoke a vibrant and storied atmosphere, similar to Harambe. At the heart of this new area will be a large Hacienda, which will host one of the largest quick-service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World Resort.
New Themed Area: Pueblo Esperanza
Animal Kingdom is expanding with the addition of Pueblo Esperanza, a fascinating new area covering an impressive 27 acres. Inspired by the tropical Americas, this area is designed not only to capture the authentic atmosphere of the region, but also to impress with its sheer scale. A key feature will be the large Hacienda, set to become one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Walt Disney World Resort.
Premiere: The First “Encanto” Ride
The highlight of this new area is undoubtedly the first ride ever based on the popular film “Encanto” from Walt Disney Animation Studios. This attraction will transport visitors directly into the magical home of the Madrigal family. The story begins inside the Casita, where Antonio has just discovered his special ability to communicate with animals. His room has transformed into a lush rainforest, and guests are invited to join him on an adventurous exploration. During this journey, there’s also a chance to meet other members of the Madrigal family and experience their magical powers.
Announcement at D23: Disney Experiences Showcase
This exciting news was announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event during the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, unveiled the plans and emphasized the uniqueness of this new attraction, which marks the first time “Encanto” has been brought to life in a theme park ride.
For fans of the Madrigal family and those eager for new adventures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, an exciting time awaits. The completion of this new area and the “Encanto” attraction is highly anticipated.
