The horticulture team at Disneyland Paris has prepared the flower beds in the parks and hotels for summer. With colorful and carefully selected flowers, they create a unique experience and an immersive atmosphere.

Careful Work for an Impressive Floral Display

Over a period of four weeks, 25 gardeners worked tirelessly to design the flower beds at Disneyland Paris. This extensive work mainly took place at night, allowing guests to admire new, colorful flower beds every day.

Flower Selection Based on Themes

The flowers and their colors were chosen by the horticulture team to match the stories of the various park areas and hotels. A standout example is the flower beds around the Central Plaza stages beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle, designed in perfect harmony with the show “A Million Splashes of Colour.”

Variety and Resilience of the Flowers

The horticulture team primarily decided Sunpatiens for their resilience to various weather conditions. A total of 54 different flower varieties bloom in the resort, including petunias, begonias, and geraniums, as well as lesser-known varieties like gomphrena, kniphofia, and armeria. Additionally, plants known more for their aromatic and vegetable properties, such as sage, verbena, and sunflowers, were integrated.

Sustainability and Local Collaboration

The horticulture team works closely with local growers and nurseries located near the resort. This collaboration enables flexible deliveries and reduces the carbon footprint. Moreover, these producers carry the “Plante Bleue” label, which guarantees environmentally friendly and socially responsible cultivation methods.

Conscious Water Usage

Another important aspect of the horticulture team's work is optimizing water usage. To conserve water resources and avoid waste, the team uses conscious irrigation supported by the resort's own water treatment plant.

A Special Highlight

In the courtyard of Auberge de Cendrillon, right behind Sleeping Beauty Castle, guests can discover pumpkins and aromatic plants, adding a unique touch to the location.
